Avalanche warning for region Indre Troms Friday 14.01.2022

Fra tidlig denne uka har vinden stått på i regionen og flyttet snø inn i nordøst- og østvendte heng. Før vinden begynte å ta var det mye løssnø vest i regionen.

Onsdag har mildvær fuktet snødekke opp til ca 400moh.

Dypere i snødekke finnes det vedvarende svake lag. Generelt har disse vært vanskelig å påvirke den siste tida, men noen steder er det likevel observert drønn i snøen. Observasjon tatt på 640 moh nær Øverbygd bekrefter at kantkornlaget har godt potensiale til bruddforplantning når den først bryter.

Tirsdag ble det løst ut et lite flakskred i NV-vendt heng ved Kalvhauet.

12 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 100 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Strong breeze from northwest. -9 °C to -5 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Sterk vind og snøbyger fra nordvest opprettholder skredfaren. Det dannes ustabil fokksnø og skred kan løsne av seg selv og bli store.

Selv om det skal en del til for å løse ut skred i vedvarende svakt lag kan vi ikke utelukke at skred i fokksnøen kan løse ut skred dypere i snødekket.
